Beverly Nichols is a full-time practicing artist
who also teaches at the Kansas Art Institute and performs workshops for
the local affiliate of the Young Audiences program. Her works garner
awards in juried exhibitions, one and two person shows and she is represented
in private collections as well as those of universities and corporations.
Beverly‚s large and realistic pieces incorporate European street
and water scenes along with still-life arrangements and some figurative
work with the model.
She often captures her subject matter at the end of the day when light and
shadow are distinctive and strong. Beverly then paints a loose and richly
colored underpainting
with sharply layered detailing on top.
Articles in periodicals and magazines chronicle her work; most recently she appears
in the October 2004 edition of Watercolor Magic magazine. |
