Owen Rose was born in 1963 to American
parents living in Colchester, England. His family moved to Ontario, Canada
in 1968 and then the Philadelphia area in 1976. He attended Hussian school
of art in Philadelphia where he received a solid background in art and
illustration. After living in Texas and California, Owen finally settled
down in Tucson in 1991 and started getting serious about painting. His
father, Frank Rose, lived in Tucson and taught him the ins and outs of
watercolor. He was accepted into El Presidio Gallery in Tucson in 1993.
He was very honored to be accepted into The
Max Gallery in 2005. He currently
lives west of Tucson, enjoying the country life with his wife, two horses,
three dogs and two cats.
Owen paints diverse subject matter, all the way from
wild flowers and saguaros to working cowboys. He is inspired by natural
beauty and finds that beauty all around him. It is his desire to bring
that joy of nature into peoples homes. He wants to paint work that
people can look at 100 times a day for years and still enjoy.
